How It All Began

Since founding SJW Alterations in 2015, I have been providing professional dressmaking and tailoring services to Milton Keynes.

Being a seamstress is an ever-evolving craft where almost anything is possible. I always offer honest advice on what can be done (and there’s very little I can’t do!). Whether it’s bridal alterations, custom-made outfits, repairs, or upcycling, I take pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship tailored to your needs.

I have always been a hands-on, growing up I was making and adapting everything from costumes and formal dresses to everyday clothing. I love the process of learning new skills and bringing garments back to life—check out my Instagram page to see more of my work!

Currently, I balance this business with life (2 Kids under 2!) so I mostly work afternoons, some evenings and weekends if I have to.

While I mostly work solo, I sometimes enlist my mum’s help for certain tasks. No matter what, I am committed to providing a seamless experience and putting my clients at ease.

My name is Sarah Jane

I have been living in Milton Keynes pretty much my whole life! I have a small dog called Frankie, who is good as gold and loves attention.

I have recently added two gorgeous girls to my family, so life has gotten very hectic and interesting!

I have always been into arts and craft and have done everything from painting, mosaic, cross stitch, crochet, basic knit, making furniture, cushion, blinds, curtains! You name it i have probably tried it!

Hobbies include Street dance (although I am not very co-ordinated), Gym and self development. I also scuba dive and have an addiction to coffee!
